TimesTalk

Last week I attended the New York Times "TimesTalk" in New York City,
which was featuring an interview with designers Diane von Furstenberg, Prabal Gurung,
and Norma Kamali and Fern Mallis, the creator of New York Fashion Week.

It was such an awesome experience to listen to them talk.
DVF was hilarious!
The conversations ranged from Twitter to the timelessness of leopard print.
The designers also spent time touching on the positives of manufacturing their products in the U.S.
and the many activities of the CDFA.
Afterwards, I was lucky enough able to get some camera-phone pictures with them!

P.S.: Also while in NYC, I was photographed for Elle.com's Street Chic Daily style blog!
Let's keep our fingers crossed that my photo makes it online!

a taste of heaven

I hope everyone is having a summer as wonderful as mine
as a I sit here enjoying my lovely morning, my yummy croissant, and my homemade espresso
Ah this is literally my ideal morning-- an quintessential European breakfast, a new magazine to read,
and plenty of Internet + blog surfing!

So over the past couple of weeks, I have bought a bunch of new things that I want to share with you!
For starters, I got some new books because I love to constantly read in the summer.
On my trip to Barnes and Noble, I picked up A Vintage Affair [Isabel Wolff], The Devil Wears Prada
[Lauren Weisberger], and The Sun Also Rises [Ernest Hemingway].

I can't wait to start reading The Devil Wears Prada because that is my all-time favorite movie!
I also have heard a lot of great things from my friends about The Sun Also Rises
so I'm interested to see how the novel will unfold, especially because it's
the first Hemingway book I will read.

Yesterday, I also picked up some new lipsticks.
Yet instead of buying my typical MAC products, I decided to opt for something new and lovely,
and what better than YSL!?
I purchased two shades from the Rouge Volupté collection:
#7 Lingerie Pink [left] and #30 Faubourg Peach [right].
I love them already!
They're very silky + the colors are beautiful and strong.
I'd say they were worth the $34 dollars a tube, but I don't plan on using them on a daily basis
because in only a couple more months, I'm officially going to be a poor college student! :(

Yet at least I'm a poor college student who finds great designer pieces
at very affordable consignment shops!!
A week ago, I stopped by Greene Street Consignment's Lambertville location and as I walked in,
these adorable Prada sandals were practically waiting for me at the front of the store!
They're a size 8--I wear a 9--but they luckily fit me perfectly...and so did the price tag.
Only $62!!! How amazing is that!
I wore them to my grad party last weekend and they looked so cute, and everyone loved them!

As I was broswing ssense.com's sale a few weeks ago,
I found this timeless black Comme des Garcons wallet that I desperately needed...
so I ordered it of course!...
And I'm so happy that I did because it is perfect!
I love how simple it is and all my necessities fit nicely inside.
Yet my favorite feature is the coin pouch-- it sits flat + opens up like a box
so you can see the change that your grabbing!
 I think it's genius haha

Ahh these earrings!! Are they not to diiiie for!?!
Wellllll, Mommy surprised me and got them for me for my graduation!! :)
They have a little story that goes along with them... so I'll share it with you.

So on my birthday, I went into New York City with my grandmom.
She needed to pick up her ring on Jeweler's Row, so afterwards
we decided to walk around and check out the other stores as well.
I was getting antsy after a while and wanted to head down to Soho
because everything was out of my price range...
but then I walked by the tiny window with these bad boys hanging amongst
all the other sparkling diamonds and flamboyant stones and I knew that I had to try them on.

I went inside the Assorted Gems Corporation store [on West 47th street] and tried them on.
Yet I left empty handed and very disappointed because they're price tag was well over $1,000.

Now normally my mom is terrible at picking out gifts for me,
and I was almost dreading opening the box at my post-graduation dinner.
Yet when I opened the box, I was completely stunned!
I couldn't have asked for a more perfect gift!
The earrings are gorgeous in person...they're vintage and
are made with vibrant turquoise, coral, and diamond
I plan on cherishing them forever!

And last, but not least...
I bought myself the Miu Miu bow satchel as a graduation gift for myself! :)
I loove it and I'm so happy that I got it!
I especially love how I can wear it as a crossbody bag when I want to go hands free.

Well that's all for now...
I'm off to go run some errands
Ciao

prom

prom pictures!! :)

I had such a great time + I loveeed my dress!
It's designed by Ema Savahl
I had the back completely re-cut much lower + turned the straps into a halter-tie.
I'm so happy that I had these changes done because it wasn't as nearly as flattering as it was before.

brunch time!

going to grab some brunch with a friend this morning!

I'm wearing my thrifted Marc by Marc Jacobs vest with a striped sheer white Free People tank, my favorite jeans-- my black J Brand skinnies-- and...

and my classic white Chuck Taylor All Star Converses!

Plus I'm wearing my 2 cuffs from Delphi and my new turquoise ring from Love Illuminati!

P.S. my Chanel tattoo is still holding up well! :)

the chemicals that make me fall in love

no school for seniors this week :)
so, I did a little shopping today, obviously.
and i finally found my prom dress!!
plus, I officially have a date, as of today!
I just couldn't be happier!

So aujourd'hui, I got this huge rock ring at Love Illuminati
Love has awesome stuff + a great jewelry collection that includes pieces
from House of Harlow--Nicole Richie's jewelry line.
Love also does beautiful photoshoots with local girls + guys.
They have a website + blog...you can check both out here.

I also purchased a cream + black silk Helmut Lang dress at a local boutique, David Witchells
It was regularly $485, but was marked down to an incredible price of $75!
It's a classy dress with edgy details.
The open, low-cut back + the black, stretchy cotton-spandex paneling keep the dress looking young + fresh.

I couldn't resist buying it, even though I have nowhere to wear it as of right now.
It was just such a good deal.
Witchells always has great sales...this summer I also picked up a black Alice + Olivia
bandage skirt--that was originally $300--for only $50!

This past Sunday, I also did some shopping in New York City.
Whenever I'm there, I always have to stop by Housing Works on 17th + 7th.
I found these amazing shoes made by El Dantes + snagged them for only $45!
As of right now, I'd say that they're the coolest shoes I own.
And let me tell ya, they certainly make people's heads turn!

Sunday, I also stopped by a trendy boutique in Soho called Big Drop.
I picked up this minty green silk Dolce Vita top with lace inset on the back.
It's such a cute top!
I love interesting shirts like this one that have character and are very unique.
I also got a bright red silk t-shirt by Emille from Big Drop.

At Housing Works, I also found an adorable Marc by Marc Jacobs grey vest.
I've been looking for a cute vest that wasn't too masculine + now I finally found one that I love!

And last but not least, I purchased my first piece of Christian Dior from Housing Works for only $60!
It's a cream silk blazer with black trim + it's just adorable!
Plus it fits perfectly, so I am also very excited about that!

Well looks like I gotta run!
I just found out I have to work tonight :(
bummer
I'll post pictures of the prom dress I got from David Witchells tomorrow!
have a lovely night
xoxo

bang bang she shot me

current playlist:
K' Naan-- who I saw perform in Philadelphia with Wale a few nights ago

I opened my pack of Chanel tattoos today, which I bought at the London airport.
I put my first one on today :)
I'm obsessed with it! I don't even want to shower haha
I really like how tattoos look on the forearm,
but I'm not sure if I'm daring enough to get a real one there because it's so hard to hide.

The cuff + jeweled cross that I purchased in Delphi.
I am in love with the large cross-- plus it was only 44€, which is even better!
I strung it on a long chain with the small cross + letter "P" pendant I already had.

I also got a few other pieces of jewelry on my trip.
I couldn't resist!
Everything was rather cheap, yet still very authentic and rustic looking, which I love.

French Vogue, which I purchased in Rome
I still got to find some time to sit down and attempt to read it.
I just had to get it because I love the editorial that Natasha is featured in.

On my trip, I also purchased a few pieces from Zara, a leather backpack in Greece,
a pair of Raybans, + a vintage Gucci clutch.
I'd say I was pretty successful :)

We'll I'm off!
Bon weekend
xoxo
